We are very proud to announce that Pantaleon has been nominated as a finalist in the prestigious 2024 World Sustainability Awards in the “Social Impact” category. This recognition reaffirms our ongoing commitment to sustainability and our efforts to promote the integral development of rural communities in the Costa Sur region.
Our nomination is due to the “Community Schools” projects, an initiative that develops knowledge and skills for operating agricultural machinery. This program focuses on the rural communities within our area of influence, with a special emphasis on the inclusion of women. The value proposition was designed and implemented in partnership with municipalities, community leaders, and the Technical Institute for Training and Productivity (INTECAP).
Our technical training schools have benefited over 4,000 of our employees. In 2022, we decided to extend the schools to neighboring communities, focusing on empowering women.
By training women for roles that have traditionally not been held by them, we are not only diversifying employment options but also promoting economic growth in the region, enhancing self-esteem, and building financial independence. To date, 130 women have gone through our training, and 80% of them are now employed with a monthly salary 2.5 times higher than the minimum wage.
The World Sustainability Awards highlight outstanding organizations, leaders, and teams that drive change and contribute to building a better future. These awards underscore the importance of corporate sustainability and celebrate the efforts of world-class companies that are making a significant difference.
We are proud of this nomination and will continue to work hard to advance our sustainability initiatives. This nomination not only recognizes our achievements to date but also motivates us to keep moving forward.
