We are excited to share that we won the Community and Collaboration Award at Sedex Xplore Sustainability Conference in London. This category recognizes exceptional collaborations between clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to address ESG challenges and positively impact communities through innovative practices.

Our Extensionism Program seeks to improve the productivity and living conditions of the 3,672 sugarcane producers in our area of influence at Panuco Sugar Mill in Mexico. The program transfers technology to producers and encourages them to adopt good agricultural practices to improve their processes and increase their productivity, consequently raising their income and quality of life.

During the first year of our program we executed the social and productivity studies and began implementing the trainings on efficient and sustainable production. As of March 2023, we have trained 2,928 producers from several ejidos on topics such as irrigation, integrated weed management, and soil preparation. We provided 3,879 one to one technical consultancies to producers, including topics such as fertilization and irrigation, among others.

We thank our partners Bayer, Solidaridad-PanAmericaña, and the sugarcane associations if the area for their commitment throughout the process. Without them, this program would not be possible.

Congratulations to all parties involved, let’s continue building a more sustainable future!
