At Pantaleon, we are proud to announce we have joined the Partnership for Central America (PCA)! This initiative, led by the US Government, seeks to create economic opportunities through the generation of inclusive and decent jobs in Northern Central America.
Currently, more than 40 international and local companies have made different commitments, pledging over USD$3.2 billion to enable long-term economic opportunities for people across the region through job creation and capacity building. Reaffirming our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, we attended the Summit of the Americas and announced our USD$9.3 million pledge to finance an industrial park in Escuintla called Synergy Industrial Park. Our commitment is also aligned with the Guatemalan National Competitiveness Plan, which seeks to empower and propel intermediate cities such as Escuintla. In its initial phase, Synergy Industrial Park will generate 200 jobs and, when it reaches full operational capacity, this number will increase to more than 1,500 people, benefiting thousands in the region.
Synergy Industrial Park encompasses an area of almost 5,000 hectares, attracting businesses and people alike due to its strategic location with access to important highways that connect Mexico and Central America. The Master Plan includes a residential development, vacational homes, technical colleges, universities, hotels, and various forms of entertainment.
