In 2016 we started the Mobile Medical Unit in order to support the communities of influence of Monte Rosa Mill in Nicaragua. This project was done in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the communities themselves.

During the months of August through October, the Mobile Medical Unit provided assistance to 1,270 people in 14 communities around the mill.

Some of the communities benefited by the unit were: Campirano Norte, Ramon Salvatierra, Santa Rosa, El Espavel, Los Valientes, German Pomares, Zopilotepe, Pedro Pablo Martinez, Kilometro 8, Mario Correa, Sasma, and so forth.

A few of the services provided consisted of: consultations, vaccines, laboratory tests, pap tests, medicines, educational talks, and preventive monitoring of weight and height of children among others.

During the harvest season the Mobile Unit provides care and assistance to our filed workers.
