Pantaleon believes in the ability of entrepreneurs to drive necessary change and development. For this reason, Pantaleon, Enactus and Pomona Impact decided to join forces for the second consecutive year to support Enactus Bootcamp.

This Bootcamp is an accelerated program, open nation wide to all entrepreneurs who have an idea, prototype or established business already generating sales. This year’s focus was innovative ventures in the agricultural sector. We received 37 applications, out of which 14 were selected to participate in the program.

The Bootcamp consists of three days in which the entrepreneurs receive workshops in topics such as: Business Model, Chain of Value, Market Size, and Communication for Entrepreneurs among others. All activities are assisted by leading entrepreneurs in their field, under the methodology of Pomona Impact. The program finalizes with a competition in which judges from various supporting organizations deliberate and analyze the projects presented.

The winner of this year’s competition was “La Bendecida” represented by its founder Andrea Fión; the venture consists of creating products and sub products of honey from the Mayan Biosphere area. The second place went to “Biosano” by Daniela Cuadra; her venture consists of the production of a bio-pesticide made up of organic residues with the intention of supporting the agricultural health of the country.

The fist place received $5,000.00 of seed capital, coaching by the Pomona Impact team, and branding by RicenBeans. The second place received coaching by the Pomona Impact team and an Ecofiltro.

Pantaleon is proud to have supported and participated in this great project, as we strongly believe that Guatemalan entrepreneurs are the future of the country.
