125 students graduate from the Adult Education Program at the Pantaleon and Concepción Mill this harvest season. This program gives the opportunity to cane cutters to finish or start their primary or high school education at the mills.
During the commencement ceremonies, government officials, Pantaleon team and Pantaleon Foundation team, presented students with their diplomas. The events included student poetry reading, songs, and dances. Also, outstanding students were recognized as “Model Citizens” and carried the flags.
The program takes place at the mill´s housing complexes: Pantaleon, Concepción, San Bonifacio and El Bálsamo, where workers receive classes three days per week from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
